हमने अपने इतिहास से सीखा था जल बचाना, अब समय है उसे दोहराने का... अब समय आ गया है… "अमृतम जलम" को जन आंदोलन बनाने का.... राजस्थान अपनी ऐतिहासिक धरोहरों—भव्य किलों, सुंदर बावड़ियों और अनोखी जल-संरक्षण प्रणालियों के लिए पूरी दुनिया में प्रसिद्ध है। सदियों पहले जब तकनीक नहीं थी, तब भी पानी को सहेजने की अद्भुत व्यवस्थाएं बनाई गई थीं। दौसा जिले में स्थित चाँद बावड़ी (Chand Baori) विश्व की सबसे गहरी और विशालतम बावड़ियों में से एक है, जिसमें 3500 से भी अधिक सीढ़ियाँ हैं और यह आज भी वास्तुकला और जल संरक्षण की मिसाल है। इसी तरह पुष्कर की नाग बावड़ी, जोधपुर की तोरण बावड़ी, और बूंदी की रानीजी की बावड़ी जैसे उदाहरण हमें याद दिलाते हैं कि हमारे पूर्वजों ने जल को कितना सम्मान दिया। लेकिन समय के साथ, हमने न केवल इन बावड़ियों और कुओं को भुला दिया, बल्कि गंदे नाले से बहने वाले अपशिष्ट जीवनदायिनी जल स्रोतों जैसे चंबल नदी को भी प्रदूषित करने लगे हैं—त्योहारों के बाद फूल, कचरा और प्लास्टर ऑफ पेरिस की मूर्तियाँ विसर्जन के नाम पर जल स्रोतों जल जीवों को जाने अनजाने नुकसान पहुँचा रहे हैं। ऐसे ...
